Wearing | Retrospective cropped blazer • self-sewn floral dress
The sunsets have been killer lately. I walked outside today and witnessed beauty in its purest form. The golden rays slowly began to fade off of the ground, the sky changed to a desaturated blue, and the sun took its time as it gently kissed the trees... then the horizon. The clouds that surrounded it turned from grey to a dark shade of purple, lined by a fluorescent orange. And then boom. Gone.
Sunsets are so beautiful. It’s insane. But no matter how beautiful, no matter how great they are--to me, they are just another reminder of how all good things come to an end.

Couple making out literally two centimeters away from my face? Annoying... but could always be worse.
Two essays that need to be done in a few hours? Get it done, get it done.
Broken bracelet? It didn't mean anything, I can buy a new one.
Guys being douchebags? Karma, karma, karma.
Raining? Nature is awesome, all weather is good!!!
Late to something important? They'll understand, at least I'm not dead.
I'm a total optimist, but man, staying positive 24/7 takes a lot of self-control.

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle? Why did Sally sell seashells by the seashore when I could have picked them up for free? Why does deja vu happen? If the police breaks my door down, do they have to pay for it? How is it that the red buttons are always the most important? How can the sight of one person knock the wind out of you and another make you feel absolutely nothing? What makes us attracted to things? Why does the car ride home always feel so much faster than driving to the destination? Why are there laws against streaking? Who have I thought about the most, out of all the people I've ever known? What starts a superstition? Is there such thing as luck? How can one hour sometimes feel like five days and other times feel like 20 seconds?

Mother: So, how much did you get that set of bangles you're wearing for again?
Me: About $5?
Mother: I beat you. I got you alllll this for $6.
& so she opens a bag & I see an immense hoard of gorgeous vintage-looking bangles, along with a pair of gold-framed clear aviators (Which she kept, oh well) A lasting smile grew on my face as I quickly fell in love with a stash of gold dominated jewelry.
& that's only 1/10 of the pile. This pretty much made my Saturday already although it's barely 10AM! I wish I went to the swapmeet with her, if only I wasn't so lazy to wake up as early as my mom on a weekend morning...
