the black keys

My favorite album of 2010 thus far, Brothers by The Black Keys. I love the old school soul they bring to their songs. Raw and gritty but soothing to the soul. Thank you for saving my generation's music.

love me two times

Wearing | red blazer from Jet Rag Vintage • DIY skirt • Forever 21 floral cardigan

"I've always wished I could be a Russian doll. A red one. With a big pair of bright blue eyes and painted on eyelashes and pink rosy cheeks. Really rosy. And my mouth would be painted on red like a bow. I’d have a flower on my chest—a rose—and two small little hands by my side. And then I could be unwrapped, two, three, four times until I was small. Really small." - Cassie, Skins

head in the clouds, your pockets filled with dreams bound for glory

Wearing | thrifted button-down shirt • thrifted leather shorts • DIY bow • vintage belt

I think it’s worth all the mosquito bites, the dirty soles, the bruises on my legs. Worth the sand in the shower drain, worth the the holes in my shirts, worth the mud on my shoes. I think it is worth a fever, a lost voice, a popped bicycle tire. I am in the belly of an eternal summer, tasting the humidity as I breathe, running at night to feel the pavement’s body heat, digging into the year’s sticky center, and burrowing myself in its organs for the rest of existence. I am a child, I cannot see my way out of this season, pull it by its roots and lift it from the dirt, or hold it by its hands and pull it out of my soul. I am within it and it is inside of me. A constant, a mindset, a feeling, a new bone in my body that I cannot remove because it has taken the place of another. An adult tooth that, if wrangled and uprooted, will leave a gap so wide in my smile that evidence of emptiness will be available for the entire world to see. I am summer, a thick warmth that drenches the entire world with a cold sweat. An ocean, a hot rain, a turbulent storm, a plane ride home, a pen and paper, and a drawing that gets lost under the bed somewhere with a million shoe boxes of photos and old letters. The tug, the life from my cheeks, to flush me of my color, to rid me of my sugar sweet air. I was born in late spring and I hold onto my blanket tighter in the winter and fall is falling onto my shoulders like the entire world is mines to keep. And I have to give up summer eventually, have to sacrifice running through sunflower fields, salty skin, and sunburns for time will take it from me whether I like it or not. Because time takes all of us. I think it’s worth all the change in color, the shift in temperature. I am an eternal summer and I will never grow cold.

cleaning out my closet

I have a lot of clothes taking up space in my closet, some of which I don't wear anymore, some I've worn once or twice, and some I've never worn. I have more than this, but I don't want to waste my time taking so many pictures... I need to know if people are willing to buy my clothes first. So, if people purchase things this time around I will continue :)

big black monsoon take me with you

Wearing | lace cardigan from mom's work • Express tank • Zara studded suede skirt • Aldo belt

I find myself mesmerized by a chain of beautiful words that have no meaning. Eyes hovering over words that make my mind frivolous with pronunciations. Run-off sentences gallivanting into unknown galaxies and memories that only the writer can make sense of. What happens to me, the reader? Do you think the words are all I need? What about the dense hollow emotions that need to be filtered into my chest with verbs and shifted elements? Perhaps writing is more so the ability to paint your soul with words rather than precision. The most invigorating moment for me to write is when an instrumental tune is playing. Here's my secret: Blast a Ratatat song, feel the beat pulse through your body, and immerse yourself into the music. Get lost, disappear into space forever fading away, receding farther and farther into the rhythm. Create your own little story to flow with the melody, maybe add some delicious ambiguity with a little bit of wit thrown in too. Paint your soul, paint your soul all you want, however you want... but remember that my soul is a stranger to yours.

100th post

PHOTO SOURCES: KnightCat, TheLovelyBows, Vild, ViktorVautier

When I first started this blog months ago, I never thought I would have over 500 followers in less than a year. I'm really, really grateful. It doesn't matter how many comments I get, whether it's one word or a whole paragraph, I enjoy reading them all and I always try to return the favor. I reply 95% of the time, and I've discovered so many amazing blogs this way! I don't blog for self-promotion or internet fame, hence why I'd much rather drop lines about relatable things and interests than document my day-by-day endeavors or weekend recaps. I honestly don't know how to categorize this blog; it's not a fashion blog, it's not a personal diary... I guess I named it Intangible for a reason, but I do think the feeling of knowing I inspired people is better than gaining praise for myself. It truly makes my day whenever someone tells me I did. I smile every time I receive a comment saying "I love your blog," it means a lot to me and will never get old no matter how many times I get it :) Thank you!
