miner for a heart of gold

Wearing | chiffon cardigan from mom's work • American Apparel red and white striped tee • Levi's black denim cutoffs

If I could channel one look for the rest of my life: pirates. Nautical stripes, boots for every outfit and occasion, all shades of red lipstick, hosiery, neutral colors, loose tops, the taste of Renaissance era, and Pirates of the Caribbean inspiration, I convey forever.

uptown on a quiet day

Wearing | floral romper dress from Suo • H&M cardigan

There's not much I like more than a cheap thrill, and Suo is probably the highlight of my aimless wandering at Citadel. Personally, I can't help but smile setting foot in this boutique. It's like being a kid in a candy store where everything is feminine, adorable, one-of-a-kind, and reasonably priced. A quick shopping fix for new rompers was needed to be cured, and here was where I easily acquired that baby blue wonder above, along with an even cuter polka dot playsuit!
The prime months of summer turn me into a bit of a minimalist, and I cherish what a quick, easy, and effortless style option onesies are—minus feeling slightly awkward sitting in nothing but unmentionables while using the ladie's room. Amusing how a garment with origins in the sandbox is considered sophisticated streetwear for the fashion-forward, in a long line of infantilizing sartorial choices such as ruffle-overloaded dresses, a garden variety of pastel palette floral print, tulle, frilly socks, Mickey Mouse t-shirts, bows, bows, more bows... and fast-fashion joints like Topshop selling fake mass-produced "vintage." It's true, no one wants to grow up anymore.

zipia.net

I thought Pixie Market had perfect styling, but Zipia.net comes a close second. I wish every clothing site showcased all their garments like this. I'm in love with their denim selection, and the best part is—with Forever 21 prices—none of these items will be breaking your bank! Click here to visit Zipia now.

the morning light

Wearing | Alternative Apparel sheer pink tunic • Forever 21 polka dot dress

As a budget maven who uses her wallet with much thought (no sarcasm involved), I question versatility before making an expenditure on any article of clothing out of my usual price range. Cost-per-wear ends up quite low for splurge-worthy purchases more often than not I find, and the investment of this tunic was surely no buyer's remorse. I can't recall how many different ways I've worn it, from channeling Kate Moss to over-pairing it with my favorite taupe blazer, here is actually the forth outfit variation with this tunic on my blog! This time, over a basic polka dot dress. Grommet belt on for an even more drapey effect.

want

The "It" bag. They defined a moment in fashion, they spoke to the not entirely edifying acquisitive streak that runs like a spinal cord through a certain breed of woman (myself included). Oh, how I remember about five years ago when every celebrity was seen toting the same Balenciaga Lariat on their arm. The frenzy was ridiculous, but somehow irresistible. Some women would get themselves in a proper spin about the latest addition to the ranks, going on about snap-shut this and calfskin that, loving that tell-tale LV, YSL, or double C, the unequivocal mark of the divine. Woe and behold, "It" bags are back. Miu Miu's Vitello Lux, Proenza Schouler's PS1, and of course... Mulberry's Alexa. This simple satchel affair, with its muted brass hardware and a low-key personality, has again got women queuing to get their hands on one. An anonymous, under-the-radar, no-logo hit. In Powder, please.
