film burn

Wearing | TLH top c/o aSociete • Laugh Cry Repeat skirt c/o aSociete • Forever 21 jacket • over-the-knee socks • "Andreana" boots c/o MIA Shoes

Last outfit post of 2011! Can you believe it's almost over? If there's one thing I learned this year, it's a little "eff it" in your system is not a bad thing at all. Rules are meant to be broken. That, and I spend way too much money on spicy chicken sandwiches and Chipotle. Have fun tonight and best wishes to the year ahead!

i'll take a west coast winter

Wearing | tunic c/o Sugarlips • Gentle Fawn shorts c/o aSociete • Sisley cardigan • Super "Lucia" sunglasses

For a long time, one of the questions I get like clockwork is: "How can you afford to spend so much money on clothes?" Actually, I don't spend much at all. The big secret? Staying on a budget and spending that cash flow wisely. Of course, I love aSociete for the sake of my wallet! aSociete is a young but growing members-only flash sale site (similar to HauteLook and Rue La La... but with waaay lower prices and catered to an age group more relatable to you and me) with limited-time sales where you can score the best daily deals on established and up-and-coming labels. Created by college students for college students, brands from BB Dakota, Hellz Bellz, and Betsey Johnson to Gentle Fawn and Glmr Klls and many more are carried at 50% to 80% off. $10 shirts? $12 shorts? $75 merchandise for $25?! In a nutshell, aSociete is legal theft. Prices so low, it's a steal.

festive spirit

Wearing | thrifted top • blazer c/o Mexy • skirt c/o Romwe • thrifted brogues • clutch c/o Trend Essentials

This Christmas, I skipped out on the wishlists and honestly didn't ask for anything. I know it may sound surprising to some considering Polyvore sets seem to flood the blogosphere this time of the year, but on my end, I'm perfectly content with everythingtangible and intangible things alike (and opening gifts is just more magical when you have no idea what to expect under that shiny wrapping paper). I'm incredibly grateful for all the companies who have sought out to me these past couple of months and unforgettably, every single one of my readers for the immeasurable amounts of love and support! If it weren't for you guys, the opportunities that I have received through this side of the internet wouldn't have came to me otherwise! I may not be one of those "super bloggers" who get all-expenses-paid trips around the world to attend the latest events or get bombarded by freebies from designer houses, but I'm so thankful to know that there are people out there who appreciate my voice and spot in this little world of fashion blogging. And just the thought of knowing that I have inspired people, is a gift all on its own that truly made it feel like Christmas year-round. Happy holidays, merry Christmas, and thank you for an amazing year! xo

lamb and flag

I was shocked when I received this package from Lamb and Flag on my doorstep after not even 24 hours since I gave them my shipping address! Talk about quick service. Selling the softest of tees and slouchy off-the-shoulder knits to vintage denim styles and other pieces reflecting an edgy, Cali-friendly rock 'n' roll spirit, Los Angeles-based LXF is a new retail concept selling both namesake label and third-party brands such as Cheap Monday and RVCA. Luckily, for all you locals, Lamb and Flag had just recently opened their first retail store this past Friday at the Brea Mall! Check it out, I promise the price points won't leave you turning your wallet inside out!

winter moodboard

The holiday season, in my eyes: feathers and fur, big sweaters, gold accents, camel capes, billowing dresses, sequins galore, and winter white. All curated through a sun-drenched, California-induced vision, of course.

With a myriad of things to do left and right lately, a more minimalistic approach in the form of fuzzy sweaters and man-repellant pants is currently the most conventional way of on-the-go dressing between the turmoil of hunting down Christmas gifts and lunch dates with old friends. Speaking of which, I generally shake my head at the thought of wearing shoes with a heel higher than an inch to the mall where constant walking takes its toll after some time but these shearling-lined boots are comfier than flatsand trust me, that's saying a lot!

creature of comfort

Wearing | cardigan c/o Mexy • Kaitlyn sweater • Levi's cutoffs • Tabio heart tights • clubmaster wayfarers

Was pleasantly surprised to open a package to this ultra soft (cue in Kleenex commercial) angora knit cardigan from Mexy! There was no resisting the sun lately so I snuck out of the wide-open window to flee all papers and eight-page study guides of black on white for days of gentle breezes and leaf-covered sidewalks. I'd much rather be frolicking in the beautiful late autumn weather than studying for finals... but that's a half lie. Currently in the middle of writing a paragraph about Aristotle and legal moralism and this is just a product of blog-induced procrastination. On a related note, I'm in total disbelief that I'm almost finished with my first semester of college! Five whole weeks of liberation ahead. Time to be recklessly in love with life.

Who doesn't love an Elvis-themed Mexican restaurant where an extra friendly chef actually encourages you to take photos inside?
