I don't know if it's because I'm looking for a clean slate or I'm feeding off all the achromatic looks prominently trending throughout many of the recent collections at NYFW (see: Alexander Wang, BCBG Max Azria, Diesel Black Gold, Jason Wu, Narciso Rodriguez), but it does seem like it's always near the end of every season that I unplug from all that is on the more saturated end of the color spectrum and fall for everything black and white for awhile. Designers are playing the "opposite game" on the Spring/Summer 2013 runways and the best part is, I don't have to wait months this time to play along!

ReplyDeleteLOVE, love, love this post! It's funny because although I'm trying my best to embrace the pervasive bright color trend, I'll often go back and dip into my mostly monochromatic closet. I'm just a creature of habit, I suppose! But there's something so sleek, chic, and classic about a black and white palette. Gorgeous photos, and now I'm having all sorts of fruit and shoe cravings!

P.S. Ironically enough, before I began my infatuation with all things white, I was trying to incorporate more color into my looks. For instance, I was really loving the pop of red you had in your last outfit post! That made me want to pull out bright colors from my wardrobe to pair unexpectedly with other pieces :)
