Donning the three p's in an all-in-one outfit—prints, pastels, and pleats! Playing it and light and sweet by color-blocking two of my favorite colors at the moment, lavender and mint, with floral sleeves thrown into the mix. Around this time of the year, it's like the whole world is being seen through rose-tinted glasses with no scarcity of Ladurée shades and blooming botanicals to choose from... I don't know about you, but these two elements have never just been a "spring trend" in my wardrobe. The fact that their availability's quickly soaring just gives me more excuses to indulge in my sugary sense and pretend I live in a Sofia Coppola film. x

technicolor dream

This top not only reminds me of Tetris, but screams a technicolor dream. Having quite a regular penchant for neutrals and muted colors, this spring, I told myself I'd step out of my comfort zone a bit more. My sartorial bravado? Go bolder and brighter. That means, embracing this season's crop of colored denim. Now that it's high time to start getting ready for the sun-soaked weather, a goal of mine is to own these jeans du jour in roy g. biv from the inkiest of bold brights to washed out and faded hues. But this isn't just limited to denim for days—stay tuned for more play on color!

first day of spring

Nothing screams premium denim quite like Joe's Jeans. Say hello to the comfiest pair of jeans I own--and by that, I mean, comfier than jeggings. By a tenfold. I know, I didn't think it was possible either! These cerulean skinnies are so comfy that I'm tempted to not only sleep in them but buy it in every color... but that's just another case of wanting things I can't afford.

On the other hand, I've been on the hunt for a simple gold-plated collar necklace but everytime I find one, it's either sold out, so cheap-looking that it looks like a Cleopatra costume piece, or way out of my price range. Luckily, LYLIF has a great selection of trendy jewelry that's not only stylish, but also affordable. And believe me, those two words in one sentence is like... do I even have to finish? It's almost the official calendar start of spring, and how I'm so ready to dive into the sea of florescent pastels and faded neons! Whether it's a saturated sorbet-like pink or peach or vivid lavenders and greens very reminiscent of macarons, I'm excited to mix and match my favorite soft brights through the use of color-blocking. On the contrary, not only am I swooning over these sugary sweet hues but I'm also smitten with the darker end of the spectrum as well such as these beautiful Alexander McQueen dresses, Vionnet shoes, and midnight blue 3.1 Phillip Lim satchel.

Indulging in a Miami Vice, y'know, white blazer on white, gold watch... Also, if you've been following my blog for awhile (or noticed my blog name, ahem!), you may have noticed that I have quite an affinity for an occasional pop of red in any outfit—be it an accessory, article of clothing, or on my lips. For months, I've been longing for the perfect rouge-colored clutch and let me tell you, this little beaut and I so perfect for each other, we're going to be together through thick and thin. x

You can imagine how excited I was when Jellypop, the brand of bewilderingly comfy (no, really, I can probably do a cartwheel in them) yet chic shoes, asked me partake in their collaboration with LOOKBOOK.nu for their spring campaign! So, for some strange reason, I never end up documenting my outfits in jeans. You all were probably worried that I never wear them. I mean, the last time I posted a look in jeans on this blog was... last May. I know, I know. But, no—when it comes to school, making a run to 7-Eleven, etc., I'm actually a total blue jean baby and complete advocator of throw-on-and-go pieces! Above, I'm donning this quick and easy look with the "Extend" heels. In my book, a pop of gold in any outfit never gets old.

A muted monochromatic mishmash I wore to the Art Walk in DTLA the other night. This Peter Pan collared blouse was a love at first sight, I think my eyes almost turned into cartoon hearts when I saw it. And don't you love when your older closet pieces are a match-made in heaven with your new wardrobe additions? I only noticed that these shorts and cardigan were perfect for each other after I was sifting through my closet trying to find a cardigan to throw on! I love playing sartorial matchmaker.

As much as I would like to go on about how much I love pleated shorts that look like skirts and chunky knit cardigans that resemble blazers, I wanted to step outside the materialism today and take a moment to raise awareness for KONY 2012. It's amazing how something like this has gone on for the past several years but wasn't brought to the attention of millions of people including mine until recently, thanks to the viral spreading of one powerful video. The sun has my head spinning these days and my mind feels like running around daisy-covered lawns. If I could fast-forward to June, I would in a heartbeat. But for now, I'll just fawn over easy, laidback travel clothes for women and daydream about living in a summer lookbook, possibly one with a desert oasis in Morocco as the backdrop and a refreshing glass of iced mint tea in hand. Sigh.

Re-falling in love with old favorite songs is one of my favorite things to do. I went through piles of records today that I haven't listen to in forever after going through boxes under my bed, finding ancient mix CDs from friends (What happened to these?), and more particularly, singing along to Ace of Base and tons of '90s hits that stirred up a slew of nostalgia. Blog-induced procrastination at its best.
