wild hearts

Wearing | top c/o Furor Moda • floral shorts c/o Romwenecklace c/o LYLIF • cuff c/o Mad Ladyflats c/o Chicnova • Vince Camuto "Charlie" bag

I'm normally not a girl for short sleeves of this length—I always have to cut them off or alter the shirt somehowbut I'm in love with this silky top from Furor Moda! From the repeating dotted hearts within hearts pattern to the cutesy button-down back (not shown) to the slits that are refreshing when compared to the round cutouts on your average open-shoulder blouses... even the flowy hemline looks good untucked (and if you haven't noticed, it is extremely rare that I wear tops without tucking them in!). I think I've found the perfect tee.

monocreamatic

Wearing | Isabel Lu top + Flirt Catalog shorts c/o Bollare • necklace c/o Romwe • J. Crew cardigan • Coach belt • sandals c/o Choies

Comfy, casual, crisp, clean: four Cs I live by during the summer. That, and a monocreamatic color scheme—because believe it or not, half of my closet is consisted of every shade of cream imaginable! All the better to throw on every beige and greige thing I have together, right? Thank goodness being matchy-matchy is no longer a fashion faux pas, because I'd be a victim guilty as charged! I mean, what do you know, I even matched my lipstick to my belt... and my nails with my shoes! Just trying to keep the look from being too vanilla. Cheesy? Maybe, but hey, there's another C I live by.

P.S. Congratulations to Rory F. for winning my Mad Lady giveaway! Just sent you an e-mail xo

red bordeaux + giveaway pt. trois: spiked loafers

Wearing | crochet tunic + baroque print shorts + spiked loafers c/o Riot Loco • Forever 21 moto jacket

I love a good red wine for any occasion and these wine-colored shorts with ornate, gold rococo swirls remind me of once upon a vintage time when baroque print was strictly synonymous with '90s Versace. Perfect for a toned down, casual baroque 'n' roll look as this outfit I wore to a friend's barbeque the other afternoon! On the other hand, I'd be lying if I didn't say I've been skeptical about these kicks ever since Christian Louboutin came out with his studded loafers a few years ago, and even more so after the second wave of his original loafer, the bigger and spikier "Rolling." But after seeing various doppelgängers of the aforementioned shoes popping up left and right lately, I'm quickly seeing how they add an instant yet subtle edge to any outfit... from a tee and worn-out jeans combo to even a little white chiffon dress! And trust me, no matter who the creator is, where you got it from, or how muchonce you own these bad boys in personthey literally take over your sole/soul.

For round three of my giveaways, I've teamed up with one of my favorite sites, Riot Loco, again for another giveaway on their Facebook and one lucky winner wins THIS pair of glittery spiked loafers that I'm wearing above!

To enter,

1. "Like" Riot Loco on Facebook, here.
2. Leave a comment on my photo, here, saying "We ♥ Riot Loco x Rouge Fox" along with your e-mail address as your entry. Don't forget to like and share!

Also, feel free to check out sneak previews of Riot Loco's newest collection, SANSSOUCI. You can also stand a chance to win an item of your choice from the collection! See more details, here.

That's it! Contest is opened worldwide. One winner will be announced on their Facebook June 28th, goooood luck! x

garden party

Wearing | blouse c/o Riot Locoshorts c/o Motel Rocks • bag + sunglasses c/o Romwe • wedges from Santee Alley

I hope you guys aren't tired of my floral print obsession juuust yet! I've always been a chocolates over flowers type of girl but sartorially speaking, there's a garden party in my closet and I can't help but keep adding more blooms to my vast fabric bouquet. Maybe in two or three months time this will become a tragic tale of fading true love... but for now, if you're allergic to flowers, take caution to this advisory: this blog may make you sick.

antique rose

Wearing | top + shorts c/o Elly Sage • bag c/o Oasap • H&M cardigan • Forever 21 beanie • heels from Santee Alley

"It's much easier to not know things sometimes. Things change and friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody. I wanted to laugh. Or maybe get mad. Or maybe shrug at how strange everybody was, especially me. I think the idea is that every person has to live for his or her own life and then make the choice to share it with other people. You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't. You have to do things. I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to be who I really am. And I'm going to figure out what that is. And we could all sit around and wonder and feel bad about each other and blame a lot of people for what they did or didn't do or what they didn't know. I don't know. I guess there could always be someone to blame. It's just different. Maybe it's good to put things in perspective, but sometimes, I think that the only perspective is to really be there. Because it's okay to feel things. I was really there. And that was enough to make me feel infinite. I feel infinite." - Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Can't wait until September to see the movie.

black magic

Wearing | dress c/o Wildfox Couture • Forever 21 floppy fedora + necklace • Levi's belt • heels from Santee Alley

I can't tell you how many mornings I've found myself standing in front of my closet hemming and hawing over what to wear, only to end up in an LBD and gold accessories. In the words of Christian Dior, "You can wear black at any time. You can wear black at any age. You may wear it on almost any occasion. A little black frock is essential to a woman." and I couldn't agree any more. One of my newest ingredients to this black magic is this full lace, flounce-sleeved number from Wildfox's White Label. Took a cue from Zorro and topped this look with a wide-brimmed hat. When in doubt, wear black!

NRFB site-wide sale: 25% off everything

Happy weekend! No Rest for Bridget is having their largest sale yet (25% off everything site-wide and up to 70% off their sale section!) just in time for you all to stock up on your warm weather closet essentials. Below are some of my picks:

Asymmetrical top, $17.99. Tucked under a hi-lo skirt, worn with pastel-colored jeans, floral shorts... the options are endless. This versatile, throw-on-and-go tank is a staple sure to go with everything.

Crochet and lace maxi dress, $35.99. You cannot NOT own a crochet/lace dress for summer. Pair this number with bohemian accessories for a free-spirited, Little House on the Prairie all-grown-up look.

Fringe maxi dress, $27.99. While I can't get enough of mini frocks, you can’t argue with the casual elegance of a full-length, maxi dress. This nude piece is simple, effortless, and so comfy you won't understand why people keep complimenting you for being dressed up!

Sheer lace moto jacket, $35.99. Who said you can't wear jackets in the summer? Thin and lightweight, and perfect to throw on when it gets cooler at sundown. Not to mention, it's an instant uplift to any outfit.

Don't forget you can also get free shipping by entering in coupon code "ROUGEFOX" at checkout, click the banner below to see more items and shop!

lady in lace

{Eniko Mihalik for Vogue Spain May 2012 via Fashion Gone Rogue}

Personally find the graveyard setting to be rather distastefulsexual poses on someone's tombstone? Um, no... but backdrop aside, I'm dreaming of the perfect summer lace dress in any of these silhouettes.

+ Congratulations Julia Janku for winning my last Romwe giveaway :) Thanks to everyone who participated! Stay tuned for more. x

gypsy eyes - jimi hendrix

Wearing | playsuit c/o Goodnight Macaroon • DIY kimono (used to be a poncho) • Forever 21 hat • 80s Purple sunglasses • Aldo boots

I have always enjoyed being thrifty. You learn to use your money more wisely, it pushes you to be more creative and resourceful, and you learn to make more use out of your clothes and alter old pieces into something new. In fact, sometimes the best place to shop is the back of your closet! I've recently rediscovered this black lace, fringe-y poncho (something I dug up at a flea market ages ago) with only one thought in mind: . Lo and behold, I grabbed a pair of scissors, slit down the front, and voilàa five second, do-it-yourself, wannabe kimono. It's good to be cheap.
