Gone are the days when Hawaiian prints were mainly fancied by middle-aged men touring through Kauai! Who would've thought the dorkiest of weird uncle wardrobe staples would make its way into being the print of the summer? But then again, who doesn’t enjoy prints that evoke thoughts of casually strolling beneath the breeze of swaying palm trees? What is it about summer that mind trips everything into an illusion of leisure time? Technically, I've been busy with work full-time but it all feels like pastel milkshakes at midnight and dancing around in neon-colored socks to '80s Madonna songs. I could live in this ocean-and-sunset-like skirt for days with no other duty than lazing around under the shade, getting a little lost reading the future through cotton candy clouds passing by. Now, excuse me while I fall asleep on the grass with a hat on my face.

Ever liked a garment so much but you try it on with a million different outfits and nothing clicks and then it comes to the point where you're left wondering why bad things happen to nice people and you just end up leaving said garment hanging in your closet all alone in the cold darkness? But then I wore it over this top and skirt and all was good with the world.

Wearing two pieces that both have a split-personality disorder: a mint and orange colorblock shirt and layered high-low skirt. Who doesn't like having the best of both worlds... twice?! It would've been predictable to don flag print—after all, who needs a holiday to be a flag-inista—so I decided to go with a free-spirited look in honor of Independence Day! Though, I did somehow manage to incorporate white, blue, and stripes... ahem. Just a quick post before I head off to spend the rest of the day binge-eating grilled foods and romping around South Bay! My look for a LOOKBOOK.nu collaboration featuring sunglasses by IVI, a recently launched premium eyewear brand formed through the combined visions of Rob Dyrdek, Pete Fox, and Jerome Mage! Kept cool under this oversized blazer with a pair of throw-on-and-go shorts and definitely feeling like "one rad girl" in this slouchy high-low tank. Summer so far has been a mild one and I'm currently taking advantage of all the chances I have left to wear any form of outerwear before the dog days take over. Until then, life is cooler behind cat eyes. x
