turn, turn, turn

Wearing | cardigan c/o SheInsidetop c/o Sugarlips • skirt c/o Romwe • Tabio tights

Gone are the barelegged days of midnight frozen yogurt cravings and icy mint lemonade drinks. Fall conveys more of a gloomy atmosphere when I love to listen to Cat Power´s smoky voice and stray through a foliage burning with fiery maple leaves with a warm paper cup of foamy Earl Grey tea in my hand. Being a chameleon when it comes to seasonal weather, it takes a bit of strength for me to not fall for the melancholia and gloom of cloudy days. This is where dressing up in dainty hearts and a warm color palette comes into play. To me, the pinkish-peachy tone of this cardigan is like the word "bubbles." You can't say it in a sad or angry tone. In other words, how can anyone ever feel down wearing peach?

limelight

Wearing | cardigan c/o Chicwishsweater c/o American Eagle • skirt c/o Motel Rockswatch c/o Daniel Wellington • Nine West "Panto" loafers

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I come from a conservative and traditional family, so without question, this outfit was a foolproof get-up for dinner at my grandma's house while still staying true to my playful roots. Salt and pepper wool? Check. Ponyhair loafers? Check. Oversized houndstooth? My aunt asked if she could borrow my cardigan. But on a less sartorial note, I realized that my list of things I'm thankful for not only grows every year, month, week, but everyday. Among a million things, I couldn't be more thankful for you folks who faithfully and continually read my blog! I'm always speechless whenever a random reader would come up to me when I'm out and about (You know what they say about Orange County being a bubble? It's true.) and I still open e-mails and gasp in disbelief at the opportunities that come to me. As a jack of all trades who usually goes through phrases with everything, never had I thought I'd finally find something I was truly passionate about when I created this blog out of late night boredom nearly four years ago. I use this platform as a means to stay creative stylistically and substantially, knowing that I can reach out to people to people along the way and inspire others are just some of the many rewarding perks of blogging! Thank you for constantly reminding me that we're all here to have fun :)

crimson crime

Wearing | sweater + jeggings c/o American Eagle • necklace from PacSun • Marc Jacobs bag • boots from Lulu's • watch c/o Daniel Wellington

One of my favorite things about blogging is that I'm constantly being introduced to new brands, ones I wouldn't discover otherwise, and even reintroduced to brands that I used to love. To be honest, I haven't browsed an American Eagle ever since my middle school days when I (unashamedly) went through what we all know and laugh at as the "prep" phase. And when reminded of the brand recently, an immediate "Awww!" went through my head and I quickly went onto their website. Boy, has it changed! Remember when we all thought it was cool to layer super thin, form-fitting knit sweaters or polos over two or three differently colored, longer tank tops? When popped collars didn't look douchey? And when no one thought twice paying $25 for a t-shirt with a huge logo plastered across it? (How in the world did I get my parents to give me money for that back then???) Can't believe that was nearly eight years ago... It's amazing how much my style has evolved since then, and even more amazing that I'm talking about all of this in the midst of the outfit I'm wearing here. I mean, look at it. This definitely doesn't look like AE circa 2004-2007. One thing's for sure, their quality is still great, if not, better. I'm not kidding when I say these are the best coated jeans/jeggings you will ever find under $50. SERIOUSLY. Take it from someone who rummaged through every fast-fashion joint only to end up spending $90 at Topshop in Nordstrom (which I almost regret buying now that I own these... aaalmost!). Please don't waste your time like I did and go straight to American Eagle!

sheen on

Wearing | BCBGMAXAZRIA shirt • Topshop coated "Leigh" jeans • Michael Kors watch  •  "Lorena" heels + "Dive" crossbody bag c/o ShoeMint

Wearing some of my favorite pieces at the moment here:
N°1 A versatile crossbody bag (that can be successfully used as a clutch without the shoulder strap) and one of the prettiest pairs of heels I own by ShoeMint. Also worn in a previous post, here. They both go with everything and are like two peas in a pod!
N°2 BCBGMAXAZRIA shirt that I scored for a steal at an outlet. It's become one of my most favorite purchases to date. On the lookout for lookalikes because I want it in every color!
N°3 Waxed jeans from Topshop's MOTO Denim line. Not too shiny and just the right, subtle amount of sheen. Did I mention my search for the perfect pair of waxed/coated jeans came to a halt when I found these?! It was almost like a glass slipper momentyes, it was that magical.
If it was socially acceptable, I'd wear every one of these items everyday until they fell apart.

lust and found

Wearing | dress c/o Furor Modanecklace + bracelet c/o JewelMint • Topshop beanie • sunglasses c/o 80's Purple • Vince Camuto bag

Finally found my ideal turtleneck dress thanks to Furor Moda! Subtle bell sleeves, slightly flowy, super soft knit, perfect LBD length, and goes so well with gold accents such as my JewelMint necklace and bracelet. Speaking of those two, JewelMint has a two-for-one discount for new members! If you haven't already joined, sign up here and use the code "2FOR1JM" to get two pieces for $29.99 as your first order!

nautical prep

Wearing | sunglasses from ZeroUV • Marc by Marc Jacobs cardigan • bag c/o Romwe

Never thought I'd see the day I'd wear stripes on stripes... but that's because I never thought I'd see the day where I'd find two striped pieces that actually went together—and perfectly, at that! I got this shift dress from my mom's workplace about four years ago and had almost forgotten I even owned it until I was trying to find another hanger in my closet to hang this cardigan on. After a few double takes, it became more and more bewildering to me as to how well they both freakishly matched. Almost calls for one of those long-lost twins success stories.
