When Refinery29 published this article on overalls a few weeks ago, I threw my laptop in disgust that they didn't include This Is a Love Song's stonewash piece. Okay, not really... but I really do believe these dungarees should've been on that list of "11 Overalls That are Out-of-This-World Cool!" Obviously, they did forget because who in the world ends a list at a strange number like 11??? Jokes aside, I wish I had a black snapback to go with the leatherette baseball tee I'm wearing with this onesie. Thankfully, a high ponytail has the same sporty effect!

I'm not sure if it's because I'm itching for a blank slate with my wardrobe or I'm going through a phase, but I've been gravitating towards colorless pieces more than ever since the year has started. I've worn such a hodgepodge of colors, prints, and textures the past couple of months that I guess going back to black (and white) has been acting more like a palate cleanser. But as much as I would love to take a new nod to mod and go all the way, I'm certainly not turning colorblind this spring. In fact, the best way to delve into color is through a single, traffic-stopping dose such as this mustard moto jacket!

Cat ear beanies and copycat Charlotte Olympia flats may be cute, but I've strayed away from anything with a blatant domestic kitty on it as soon as I started seeing them everywhere on campus last month (you know something's too trendy when people from your school have caught up on it). Don't worry—my cattitude isn't a bad one—I'm still a friend of the fur! In this look, I'm unleashing my inner cat lady with my favorite kind of feline print and I couldn't think of anything more purrrfectly paired with it than all black (ahem, Catwoman) and shades to match. No giant cat-faced sweater needed!

Is anyone else starting to get just a little tired of seeing dreary winter clothing everywhere? I don't know about you, but I'm anxiously waiting for the racks and shelves at my local malls to be fully stocked with everything S/S 2013. I can't wait to be surrounded by bright, confetti-colored prints and all things floral and lace! Fortunately, lace bralettes are a favorite among my list of "Pretty Things I Can't Live Without" and this one I'm wearing here from Victoria's Secret PINK adds a playful punch of personality and burst of brights to any otherwise dull outfit. Layers aren't just for warmth!

Last year was like two thousand and twelve shades of grey. Among a million memorable moments and personal achievements, I've gone through so much positive growth, ended the chapters of my "teen" years and turned 20, learned self-control and saved a lot more than I spent for the first time in my life, made enthusiasm a daily habit, started working full-time at a job where I consider everyone I work with my second family, fostered a new mindset that allowed me to look less and see more, and took every moment of defeat in between as an opportunity to make a comeback story... 2012 not only set up a future for me to anticipate, but maintaining this little blog along the way helped develop my personal style and better myself as an individual in more ways than just black and white. Who knew that a side hobby could be a platform to rediscover yourself? I can't wait to see how 2013 turns out when I reflect upon it 12 months from now. I know I'm a bit behind, but happy new year, everyone! Thank you for reading, as always xo
